The biggest influencers in the automotive industry

If you love keeping up with the automotive industry but have no idea who the industry influencers are then look no further. We’ve compiled a list of who we think are the top influencers in the UK. Those listed range from top industry bloggers, YouTube stars and automobile customisers to the stars.

All of the following are well worth a follow:

Chris Harris – @harrismonkey | 85k followers

Harris is one of the most influential motoring journalists in the world right now. He’s just left Pistonheads to focus on other ventures such as focusing on his much loved videos like this one.  You will not regret following this man, even if it’s just to see what cars he’s currently driving.

Tim (Shmee) – @shmee150 | 11.5k followers

Known by his followers as Shmee, this gentleman has made his money through YouTube and has over 300,000 subscribers to his channel. He’s pretty on it when it comes to social media so well worth a follow on his Instagram as well as his Twitter. He averages 100K+ views on his videos and covers pretty much every supercar launch in the world.

Pistonheads – @pistonheads | 64k followers

One of the UK’s largest classifieds site. They run, in our opinion, the best blog in the country and have some great features such as “£100k garage” (worth checking out). Worth a follow, even if it’s just to see the latest classifieds they put out on Twitter (usually the more interesting ones such as this Lamborghini LM002).

Yianni Charalambous – @yiannimize | 46.2k followers

The UK has had an influx in car customisation as of late. Especially within the high-end car market, take a trip down to London if you don’t believe me. Yiannimize are one of the big players in this market and have customised some of the most exotic and exclusive cars in the world. Plus, they’ve just launched their own app which allows users to customise their own cars straight from their smartphone. Did we mention his customers include One Direction, Dynamo Magician amongst others. Well worth a follow.

Tax The Rich – @taxtherich100 | 3k followers

Not entirely why these guys don’t have more Twitter followers than they already do. Their Twitter description reads ‘Bringing you videos of Supercars in the most unlikely manner’, in short these guys get given expensive supercars and drive them in ways you’ve never seen before. Think ‘Ferrari Enzo’ driving down a single track dirt road at 100mph, or Rolls Royce Wraith powersliding across someones garden.

Dave Den – @daveeden | 2.7k followers

Don’t need to say much about this fellow. He’s the PR manager for McLaren Automotive which means…inside scoop at McLaren HQ and who doesn’t want that appearing in their Twitter timeline? Expect plenty of videos, photos and articles right from the horses mouth.

Robert Himler – @Robert Himler | 20.3k followers

Another YouTuber but this time it’s the man behind the channel ‘Epic Car Videos’. This guy certainly knows how to play into the palms of YouTube users, quick example; ‘22 Year old Girl Buys a Lamborghini Gallardo’, this video has managed to secure a cool 7.5 million views, obviously the kind of thing that gets viewers hearts racing!
