As Cold as Ice: Nissan launch their new refrigerated van

Scores of catering business owners who have long demanded a high performance and energy efficient refrigerated van are applauding the recent release of the new Nissan NV200 Fridge Van.

Strong demand for bespoke refrigerated vehicles that meets the rigorous needs of the fresh food and catering industries led to the development of the Nissan NV200, available from Nissan dealerships throughout the UK. The 57.7 mpg, 129g/km CO2 LCV has a starting price tag of L£19,375 which includes the standard Nissan three-year warranty covering both the cooling unit and insulated cell.

The recently launched NV200 Fridge Van meets the highest standards of technical excellence among refrigerated vans for sale, designed to refrigerate to 0°C and able to accommodate up to 2.2m³ of pure load space. European-based Gruau, a specialist in temperature control design, is responsible for the conversion which ensures that all food deliveries are kept under optimal refrigerated conditions while being transported in order to arrive fresh with no compromise in food temperature or quality.

Special features of the long-awaited Nissan NV200 Fridge Van include an insulated cell interior constructed of panels made out of moulded polyester-polyurethane. The use of this style of lining not only increases the volume of the van but also offers the highest level of thermal efficiency in today’s marketplace. Another appealing feature is the very modest weight increase that the cooling unit and insulated cell add to the vehicle to avoid any impact on the performance of these freezer vans. In addition, the NV 200 has been fitted with a Nissan engine that is not only very fuel efficient but also low on emissions, the 1.5 litre diC turbodiesel.

Nissan’s welcome new entry into the field of freezer vans also features a user-friendly temperature monitoring and control unit, convenient rear door access and optional side door and an overnight standby feature allowing the van to be connected to a 230V socket for continuous cooling. Compared to other brands of fridge and freezer vans the NV200s are environmentally friendly and feature the highest quality cooling performance for enhanced food safety while in transport. This model also boasts an impressive load space and abundance of cabin storage to ensure that the drivers’ comfort is always put first.

The new Nissan fridge van NV200 is available from September 2013.
