The Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Technician to join our growing team. This is a "Mid-Level" role, perfect for a technician with 3+ years of experience who is proficient in servicing and general repairs but is eager to take on more complex diagnostic challenges. You will be working with our Mercedes-Benz specialised team with access to the latest Star Diagnosis systems and specialised Mercedes-Benz tooling.

At AMF, we take pride in being an independent Mercedes specialist with an impeccable reputation within both local and national automotive circles. Our exceptional service has garnered us a loyal clientele, some of whom travel from as far as Switzerland for our top-notch diagnostics and repair services. Every day is different, and we are privileged to be able to work on some very special cars, from 1960s classics in for restoration work, to brand new cars in for modifications. We have a great working environment where everyone gets along, and our small team has a shared passion for these cars.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance to Mercedes-Benz standards.
  • Conduct low-level diagnostics including electrical fault finding and sensor calibration.
  • Execute mechanical repairs involving braking systems, suspension, and drivetrain components.
  • Ensure all work is documented accurately and the workshop remains clean and safe.
  • Collaborate with the Office team to provide clear technical explanations for customers and ensure efficient workflow.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience. Benefit to experience working on Mercedes-Benz vehicles but not essential.
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Mercedes-Benz tooling and documentation is a bonus. Confident use of Xentry/Star Diagnosis is preferred, along with ability to navigate basic technological devices.
  • REQUIREMENT: Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and a high level of pride in your workmanship.
  • License: UK driving license.

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive Pay: Generous base salary with a realistic and transparent bonus structure.
  • Training: Ongoing training and support within a knowledgeable and experienced team.
  • Perks: No weekend work, Monday to Friday only with opportunities for overtime if desired. Ability to use the workshop for work on personal vehicle.
