Apprentice Vehicle Technician

Bowker Blackburn is part of a successful, well-established family-owned Motor Group and we’re looking for an Apprentice Vehicle Technician to join our BMW & MINI Centre on Trident Park. You’ll be working in a state-of-the-art Workshop with fully funded training, on full pay, plus great benefits!

The Role:

Joining us as an Apprentice Vehicle Technician offers you the opportunity to thrive. You’ll develop your career with two of the world's most prestigious brands, working alongside some of the industry’s best talent.

As an Apprentice Vehicle Technician, you’ll be involved in all aspects of maintenance and repair from routine servicing to complete component overhaul of vehicle systems. Your Apprenticeship, in conjunction with the BMW Group Training Academy, will focus in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, and the overall programme will last three years. On completion, you will have a formal Level 3 qualification.

You’ll be partnered with one of our own Technicians who will be your mentor throughout your apprenticeship journey and you’ll be using the very latest hi-tech diagnostic procedures and equipment on the most sophisticated electronic and computer-controlled vehicle systems. You will gain experience in: Wheels, Tyres, Steering, Suspension and Braking Systems, Service Inspection & Maintenance, Diagnosis & Rectification of Light Vehicle Engine Faults, Chassis etc. Once trained as a Technician, you will be expected to carry out a wide variety of tasks from routine maintenance to full overhaul.

Ideally, you’ll have achieved grades 4-9 in Maths and English, although this is not mandatory.

Working days are Monday to Friday, with Saturday mornings on a rota basis.
