A parts manager is responsible for managing levels of stock within a servicing and repair workshop.
Responsibilities include ordering in the appropriate volume of parts, recording the sale of any parts and maintaining the workshop’s inventory. The correct levels of stock will allow the workshop to carry out routine repairs without waiting for parts to be ordered in and without the extra costs associated with excess inventory.
Parts managers need to be organised, have good administrative skills and have a good working knowledge of the products they are working with. For more on the skills and qualifications required for this role, take a look at our parts manager job description.
