Technician Trainer (Motor Trade)

Our client, based predominantly in the Midlands but also with branches in the South East and South West is looking to recruit a technician trainer to put best practice into the company.

The role includes:

    Travelling between company and customer locations on a daily basis.
    Carry out training courses and investigate the quality of the work that has been done and or is being done.
    Attend training courses to increase your knowledge that will in turn be converted into a training course for fitters.
    Log work that has been inspected and take photographic evidence at the time of inspection.
    Issue reports to department managers and recommend actions that need to be taken.
    In the event that you are concerned with the quality of an install take the appropriate action by either helping the technician and or requesting his removal from the job.
    Attend meetings with clients to discuss install requirements and recommend technicians to do the required install
    Report  unprofessional behaver to senior management and directors complete with a written report and if necessary support your findings with photographic evidence.
    Report on condition of technicians equipment and vehicle and if you have concerns report in writing to the management.
    Instigate a training programme for each company location highlighting the most urgent requirements and set dates for the training to be done.
    Ensure that all technical staff are wearing the correct clothing and foot wear.
    Ensure all technical staff represent themselves in a clean and tidy manner to portray a professional image.
    Investigate time taken on jobs and recommend productivity charts for each job.
    Carry out a method statement on all new jobs and produce a hand book for each technician.
    Reporting to group on a monthly basis

You will be provided with a company vehicle that will be capable of carrying inspection and hand tools

You will be provided with a fuel card, uniform etc

The role would suit a motor trade technician or a service manager/workshop controller.

Clean licence (3 points acceptable) required
