Technical Trainer/Assessor/Internal Verifier

Location: Goole (Some travel to site locations)

Full Time/Permanent


The Role:

Assessor Role


  • To brief and guide the learner through the assessment process, ensuring different assessment methods, feedback and next stages are communicated
  • Contribute to the Centre’s quality assurance process
  • Carry out all assessments to the level expected by IMI Awards and the Centre
  • Attend update workshops as required
  • Invigilation of on-line tests ensuring all requirements are met

Internal Verifier Role


  • Evaluate the internal assessment process, ensuring consistency across all assessments 
  • Develop and maintain an internal verification strategy and sampling plan
  • Advise and support assessors
  • Liaise with the Centre Co-ordinator to manage the workload of assessors
  • Carry out internal verification to the level expected by IMI Awards and the Centre, consistently and rigorously
  • Have a thorough understanding of the occupational areas relating to the qualifications being verified 



  • Order and replace assessment stock
  • Arrange workshop set up depending on assessment/training planned
  • Set up equipment and vehicles for assessments
  • Deliver bespoke training for sessions and practical demonstrations as required
  • Produce PowerPoint presentations to assist training needs
  • Keep up to date with industry CPD
  • Organise technical data for NCRC sites when required
  • Attend regular team training meetings
  • Always promote good working practices
  • Ensure all housekeeping in the centre in maintained

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

Candidates will have:

  • IMI Senior Accreditation
  • Strong experience as a Bodyshop Technician
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of candidate
  • Experience of taking on the role of Assessor/Internal Verifier
  • Understanding of the IMI Accreditation process
  • CSWIP Welding  qualifications preferred but not essential
  • A teaching qualification would be preferred but not essential
