Team Leader– Mechanical Technician - Low Volume Vehicle Production (24 Month Contract)

We are currently recruiting for a mechanical technician with leadership skills and experience to join our team on a 24 month contract.
Reporting to the Head of P67 Programmes, this is a key role where the successful individual will lead a small team of high skilled and committed vehicle assembly technicians to deliver a low volume, exceptionally high quality, production build programme. The Lead Technician will ensure that the production plans are delivered to meet the exacting standards of Williams Advanced Engineering and its client to quality and on time.
Duties will be wide ranging and varied and will include being the specialist mechanical lead technician for the production team, working in conjunction with the quality and manufacturing engineering team to establish the production build process, stages and specifying all tooling and equipment requirement to undertake the production build.
The Lead Interiors Technician will be responsible for recruiting and training production technicians and will need to build and sustain a fantastic team ethic with a ‘can do, will do’ attitude.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in a high quality, low volume production vehicle environment and an extremely high level of attention to detail. It is essential for the Lead Electrical Technician to have a strong automotive engineering, mechanical/or electrical background, experience of lean methodology and in particular 5S and an ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, documents and specifications is imperative.
Experience of a programme running through prototype, to pre-production and onto low volume production would be advantageous.
