We are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Head of Quality & Manufacturing Engineering, this is a key role where the successful individual will support the business as a Quality Engineer working alongside Iconic brands. This role includes being the recognised first point of contact for quality between our customer and the customers of our customers. As a subject matter expert, using your knowledge and experience within quality you will ensure that all products produced meet WAE standards and our customer’s specifications and requirements. You will ensure the management of customer and supplier concerns are concluded in a timely manner; you will participate and lead APQP activities both internally and externally with customers and suppliers; leading problem resolution and other continuous improvement initiatives and activities.
Duties will be wide ranging and varied and will include working closing with Manufacturing Engineering to assist in the successful setup of production and the development of Quality manufacturing processes to ensure quality is embedded into builds and best practice is adhered to, lead the implementation of specific, focused ‘Quality Improvement Programmes’ to deliver year-on-year improvements, utilising KPI analysis, Pareto, FMEA and other relevant tools and techniques and act as the subject matter expert whilst assisting in DFEMA`s, PFMEA's. Owning control plans that are generated from them.
There is also a requirement to devise and own specific elements of the quality improvement road map. Support the Quality Management System and our compliance to ISO9001:2015, and any project specific Quality requirements as and when required, as well as own APQP, assisting programme management and design with new product development and launch.
The successful candidate will have experience working within the automotive industry in various positions (BIW, paint, interior, inspection) and new product design. It is essential for the Quality Engineer to have experience of using business improvement tools and techniques (eg. 5s, Kaizen, etc), APQP, PPAP/FAIR submissions and the construction of PFMEA’s and Control Plans.
