Lead SQA Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Lead Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team on a full time, permanent basis.
Reporting to the Head of Quality and Manufacturing Engineering, this is a key role where the successful candidate will work alongside iconic brands and will be a recognised first point of contact for the suppliers in relation to quality, as a subject matter expert in quality, leading problem resolution and other continuous improvement initiatives and activities.
The Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer will lead and participate in APQP activities externally with suppliers and will facilitate the development and implementation of a robust supply chain, ensuring the management of supplier concerns are concluded in a timely manner, as well as being a key member of the team with a broad remit to support the quality of a high performance, extremely niche vehicle.
The successful candidate will have a HNC or degree in engineering (or related discipline) and experience of utilising APQP tools and techniques, compiling and approving PPAP/FAIR submissions, business improvement tools and techniques (5s, Lean, Kaizen, etc) and the use and construction of PFMEA’s and Control Plans.
It is essential that the Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer has extensive experience in the use of statistical analysis, process capability and problem resolution tools (8D, 5 Why, 6 Sigma, etc), as well as knowledge of automotive technology, new product design and development and experience gained in a manufacturing quality or supply chain quality environment (preferably in automotive, aerospace or similar sectors). Extensive knowledge of TS16949, AS9100, ISO14001 and ISO9001 to comply with company processes is required and experience of working with high voltage products would be advantageous.
