As the Bodyshop Advisor you will provide a courteous and efficient estimating and reception service for the Bodyshop and SMART repair department for your Centre, reporting to the Group Bodyshop Manager and liaising closely with colleagues across the Centres. You will be responsible for selling bodyshop time, products and services, liaising with insurance companies and their engineers where appropriate.

It is expected that you will operate in a professional and profitable manner, observing and upholding Dealer core standards and adhering to all manufacturer contractual standards and encourage your colleagues to do the same.


Role responsibilities – including but not limited to


  • To provide a courteous and efficient reception service ensuring each customer receives a warm welcome and their enquiries are handled professionally
  • To answer all telephone calls in a courteous, helpful manner, booking in vehicles for repair
  • To upsell bodyshop, SMART and wheel repair work, and extended warranties to customers
  • To record a list of damages to the customers’ vehicles in order to provide detailed estimates of repair costs
  • To process the estimates using the Audatex system and import into management system
  • To negotiate repair approvals with insurance engineers
  • To ensure customers are fully informed of what action needs to be taken on their vehicle including obtaining their approval for additional work required
  • To provide regular communication to customers keeping them informed of repair progress, or vehicle completion regularly updating the databases
  • To complete job packs and prepare invoices in an accurate and timely manner
  • To arrange loan vehicles ensuring relevant documentation is completed according to procedures
  • To support the general administration of the department, providing reports as requested
  • To provide cover in the absence of the colleagues

Who do you need to be?

  • You must have excellent communication skills to communicate credibly with our customers, colleagues and senior management
  • You must be self-motivated and able to multitask in a busy environment
  • You will have the ability to keep up-to-date with complex information, proven selling skills and good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • You will be good with administration, diary management and following up within agreed timeframes
  • You will be able to develop rapport and trust with customers and to resolve conflict situations calmly and reasonably
  • You will have a passion for customer service, have a process orientated approach and be professional and well presented 

Your experience

  • You will have five years’ previous knowledge and experience of working in a similar role in a busy bodyshop environment
  • You must have previous experience of working with Audatex and estimating
  • You will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
  • You will have good business acumen and negotiation skills
  • You will have full and clean Driving Licence
