MSXI are currently seeking a Warranty Claims Assessor to work on our premium brand Client in Colchester.


The Warranty Claims Assessor is responsible for the assessment and review of submitted warranty claims by the Retailer network, supporting administration whilst ensuring the correct submission process is adhered to.


All claims should be assessed and approved in accordance with the manufacturers Policies and Procedures whilst providing information and recommendations at all times. Claims should be authorised, amended or rejected accordingly.


This role will require an automotive professional with a methodical and proactive approach with warranty and / or technical experience from a Retailer, Dealer or OEM background


Candidate Responsibilities

  • Working in an experienced team of up to nine assessors in an open plan office

  • Record data as required into a bespoke computer application (training provided)

  • Assess warranty claims on OEM systems and liaise with and where required the Retailers via telephone and e-mail

  • Analyse data received from Retailers and ensure that all data is aligned with all the correct processes, technical bulletins and campaigns

  • Proactively find all relevant data and identify clearly the reasons for accepting, amending or rejecting claims

  • Administer the necessary documentation to support the warranty claims

  • Accept and attempt to resolve enquiries from Customer Retailers (and Customer personnel) via a Communications / Systems entry methodology

  • Participate in training / product information exchange with appropriate data sources for up to 4 weeks per year including overnight stays as required

  • Write and circulate data to other Helpdesk Engineers/ Warranty Assessors / Project Management / Customer / Customer Retailer staff when necessary

  • Liaise with Retailer personnel at all levels

  • Liaise with relevant parties on Case Histories, trends and analysis

  • Liaise with Customer Engineers / Staff on all issues associated directly with Prior Approval Helpdesk/Field Warranty Assessors obtaining clarification from Managers if required

  • Liaise with all relevant parties and highlight to management areas for concern, opportunities to develop the processes and further reduce excess warranty costs


Candidate Specification

  • The ideal candidate will have either Retailer, Dealer Franchise or OEM warranty background, with demonstrable automotive warranty and technical experience. Other Dealership positions may be considered if experience is relevant to the role

  • Customer experience would be judged a significant advantage

  • Confident in technical concern resolution, use of telephones, computers and web based applications

  • Work to tight time schedule, producing and maintaining a high level of quality

  • May be required to drive vehicles and therefore should have a valid driving license and be capable of driving manual and automatic transmission vehicles

  • Must be prepared to travel if required for up to one week at a time as requested by Project Management

Competencies and Skills required

  • Team player but must have a pro-active approach and provide new ideas for continuous improvement.

  • Strong business acumen, customer focus and automotive knowledge

  • Process orientated with attention to detail

  • Must have good written and verbal communication ability as well as demonstrating a high standard of interpersonal and numerical skills

  • Experience having worked with a high-performance, collaborative, constructive peer group is a plus 

  • Enthusiastic, flexible and proactive personality

  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for the brand.

  • Strong organizational  and time management skills

  • PC literacy is essential


Working hours

Full time (Monday – Friday) and prepared to work flexible when needed
