Vehicle Technician  Location: Derby

Annual salary: £25k-£35k depending on role and experience, plus bonus potential.

Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm (45 hours per week) full time and permanent.  This post may also involve overtime as and when required.

We are offering a great opportunity for a confident Technician with a flair for testing, diagnostics and fault resolving who is qualified to NVQ level 3 and/or BTEC National (or equivalent) in vehicle maintenance and repair and has at least 3 years’ experience.

Along with the day to day work on electrical and mechanical systems and inspecting vehicle components for wear and tear, this is the chance for you to really move forward and grow in a role that you can enjoy, in a company you can be proud to be associated with. If you have previous knowledge or a passion for Mercedes-Benz or prestige vehicles, this will be highly regarded.

Key role and responsibilities:

  • Vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Testing, diagnosing and resolving faults on a wide range of vehicles and modern vehicle systems
  • Working on electrical mechanical systems
  • Inspecting vehicle components for wear and tear
  • Performing work in a timely manner to company standards
  • Advising on additional work required, providing clear, written reports
  • Liaising with customers
  • Suggesting and making improvements to company processes
  • Carrying out duties in a safe and compliant manner
  •  Maintaining work areas in a clean, tidy and safe condition
  • Supporting other technicians in the workplace

Essential requirements:  

  • NVQ level 3 and /or BTEC National (or equivalent) in vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in vehicle repairs
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Knowledge of modern diagnostic equipment and systems
  • Confident team player with great communications skills
  • High standards of housekeeping
  • Willingness to help shape and move the business forward Full set of tools required
  • Desirable requirements:
  • Knowledge of Mercedes-Benz or prestige vehicles
  • Use of electronic parts catalogue
  • Main dealer training
