Blue Arrow work with one of the North East's largest automotive manufacturers, and we are seeking candidates to join their Assembly and Press departments. These roles are based in the Sunderland/ Washington, Tyne and Wear area.
The Assembly roles include using technology-leading spot and robot welders to assemble car parts in a fast paced, high volume production environment, performing detailed Quality and Safety checks, working to challenging targets and achieving excellent quality records. The work can be pressurised and repetitive, so applicants should have a good level of focus and concentration. Candidates would ideally have experience of working in a heavy factory environment or the automotive industry, including working to Standard Operating Procedures, conducting safety and quality checks and working to targets. They will have a good understanding of quality / Health and Safety issues and an ability to follow written and verbal instructions, use of automated welding systems and ability to focus on repetitive tasks for long periods.
The Press roles are also based within a similar high volume factory environment, monitoring and operating presses from 200 up to 3000 tonnes, with potential for training in overhead crane operation. Candidates should have experience of working in a press environment, although other heavy manufacturing experience would be considered. Candidates should also have an ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures, and problem solving skills are an advantage.
Both roles will involve a high volume of overtime as a requirement of the job to meet customer demands, and both roles are based on a 1, 2 or 3 shift pattern. Shift allocations cannot be guaranteed and can be changed therefore candidates must be able to work any of the patterns. Own transport would be beneficial (but not essential) due to the nature of the shift patterns.
These roles will be ideal for a candidate looking for an opportunity for reliable, ongoing work, and which offer a chance to progress their career onwards with the client. Pay rates will be increased by 25p an hour every 6 months over an 18 month period (from candidate start date), so the role offers excellent earning potential.
