Applications are invited for the full-time, permanent position of Deburrer / Finisher working primarily on CNC machined parts.  The vacancy is on our day shift.  

The primary function is to deburr and hand finish CNC machined parts to a high standard. High variety of parts and materials working in a modern machine shop environment.

Essential Experience / Qualities:

Ability to set and operate manual machinery (mills & lathes) to tight tolerances

Experience in hand finishing and de-burring of machined metal parts, particularly in aluminium

Must be able to read and interpret information from 2-D drawings and follow workshop procedures in a machining environment

Understanding of tolerancing, use of manual measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers and thread gauges)

Hand tapping or use of a clutch controlled tapping machine

Use of metal washing tank and surface blasting cabinet

Effective packing of finish machined parts within packaging protocols

Desirable Experience / Qualities:

Ability to operate and run pre-set CNC machinery and maintain in-process quality checks

A high level of manual dexterity required for some small components

Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or technical traineeship

Experience of fitting helicoils & wire thread inserts

Familiarity with manual machining equipment; mills, lathes & drills

Good understanding of machining and metal finishing processes

Hours of Work

7 am to 3 pm or 8 am to 4pm, Monday to Friday

This position is based at our Quedgeley site and the successful candidate will receive a competitive salary.
