The sales side of the job requires the Business Manager to interact with all customers that have purchased vehicles. It is there job to ensure the customer has the correct finance and insurance for the deal it is this process where the manager will try to upsell certain extras such as extra servicing, product protection etc.
Administration
The Administration side to the role includes drawing up receipts and bills for customer purchases as well as preparing other documents such as policies and sales orders.
Miscellaneous
The miscellaneous side of the role includes assisting other sales people on the showroom floor, motivating staff members, dealing with customer inquiries / complaints as well as researching and implementing new products or services.
What is needed?
Business management jobs require the candidate to be motivated, driven and have a proven track record in the industry especially sales. They will be in charge of a team so interpersonal and leadership skills are required.
Companies tend to prefer candidates with degrees in either marketing, management, finance or any other business related degree. If you haven’t got a degree then experience is a must.
Working conditions
Business Manager contracts state that they tend to work Monday to Friday 9-5 and every other Saturday, however they often work over the normal 40 hour week.
Their job is normally based indoors in an office environment, which is normally fully equipped and well lit. Some traveling is required in order to meet deadlines if customers can't come to the store to attend meetings.
