Our client, a major Contract Hire subsidiary of a PLC Business has an exciting opportunity for a Fleet maintenance leader.
With at least 3 years experience in a similar role, you will possess the capability and enthusiasm to
develop and motivate a team of dedicated maintenance support assistants, ensuring the smooth running of this busy department.
The role : To manage a team of 8 Maintenance Controllers in authorising dealer repairs on contract hire vehicles and vehicles being repaired under a Warranty Scheme. To plan and implement maintenance strategy. The role is based in Sunderland.
Job Responsibilities:
1. To manage the team on a day to day basis ensuring team members are continually trained and developed in their roles.
2. To analyse problem vehicles and authorise significant items of expenditure in respect of vehicle repair
3. To implement leading edge technology into the department to allow electronic authorisation and invoicing
4. To continually review processes and methodologies to continually improve efficiency and streamline operations.
5. To manage significant maintenance and warranty budgets ensuring spend is monitored and controlled and variances from plan adequately explained.
6. To work efficiently with three other Fleet Services teams based at Derby, Harrogate and Manchester to ensure there are consistent policies and procedures across the 4 teams.
7. To effectively manage suppliers of outsourced supplies and services.
8. To work as part of a local management team based at Sunderland.
