Based in Essex and with over 100 years experience in its field, our client is a global leader in key technologies include: Airborne radar, Avionics and Mission systems, Electro optical systems, Lasers and Simulators. The company has a complete capability for design, development, manufacture and in-service support. Career opportunities are excellent. They are now looking to recruit a Subcontracts Manager to manage and deliver the supply chain strategy for bid and contract delivery. Working with the Head of Commercial & Supply Chain (Fixed Wing) to innovate supply chain solutions from customers through to the management of their partners and the supply chain.
Job Requirements
The Subcontracts Manager will manage and lead the sub-contracts & commodity team responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of support solutions, ensuring head and subcontract teams are tailored in an effective and balanced manner. With the support of the heads of commercial and procurement functions, (using the discipline, governance and policies), ensure that a common and innovative through life solutions/management process is applied to maximise margin. Implement the subcontract management and development strategy and capability for the account, demonstrating developments and improvements within the supply chain. Measure and deliver the necessary objectives and metrics to manage and measure the commercial and supply chain. Own the supply chain 'Risks and Opportunities' considering the management, control and mitigation.
Details
The Subcontracts Manager must challenge non-valued activiities in own, customer and supplier environments. Provide the leadership, within the customer and supply base, for process improvement and innovative solutions. Good knowledge of MoD organisation would be desirable along with excellent communications, negotiations skills and financial awareness.
