Job Description

Sales Development Manager

Job title:        Sales Development Manager
Reports to
:    TPS Manager

Main purpose of job

To achieve agreed targets for Trade Parts sales, within defined operating and financial guidelines.
To maintain good relationships with existing customers, and to establish new sales contacts and opportunities with the business sector, ensuring that exceptional levels of customer care and professionalism are achieved at all times. To design and present tailored packages to each business user in order to meet specific requirements and enhance customer satisfaction. Experience in trade parts is not as important as a strong sales approach and the ability to meet the following criteria.

  

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Prepare and use a planned sales presentation, to achieve maximum results from available sales opportunities, including customer greeting, qualifying, handling objectives, product presentation and demonstrations, closing and delivery.
  • Develop and use customer follow-up and prospecting system.
  • Create additional sales opportunities for repeat or new business.
  • Contribute to the achievement of maximum customer retention through effective representation.
  • Develop a planned daily, weekly and monthly sales call programme as agreed with your Manager.
  • Develop and maintain full knowledge of all products, accessories, prices and key competitors.
  • Handle dissatisfied customers calmly, resolve complaints with professionalism and sensitivity, and involve your Manager when necessary regarding any customers issues.
  • Approach all customers and visitors promptly and courteously.
  • Produce reports on all business sales activities including follow-up, prospecting, sales presentations, new clients etc, to ensure accurate sales forecasts.
  • Maintain records of all personal expenses in line with instructions.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all Parts sales and financial paperwork.
  • Agree business proposals with your Manager and complete satisfactory negotiations with potential customers to maximise sales.
  • To assist in the development of strategy to increase business in accordance with Business/Growth plan.
  • Meet with existing customers regularly to present new offers, to secure future business opportunities.
  • Prospect all potential business users and keep accurate records for future contact.
  • Contact prospective customers in a structured consistently professional manner, ensuring all contact by telephone or correspondence used adheres to TPS standards.
  • Identify the customer base through market studies and relevant reports.
  • Achieve sales objectives as agreed with your Manager.
  • Grow business user database to ensure long-term growth of the business sales operation.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain effective liaison with other operational personnel.
  • Undertake all other tasks and responsibilities as requested by your Manager.
