Purchasing - New Model and Supplier Development Engineer

The New Model and Supplier Development (NMSD) team at Honda ensure that parts and process are developed to the highest standard at the pre-production phase and thereafter ensure supplier processes are maintained. Within NMSD there is a vacancy for a skilled engineer as a result the continuing growth and success of Honda throughout Europe.

The main responsibilities of the role are;

• Liaising between factory and suppliers ensuring quality parts supply is maintained.
• Project Manage supplier parts and processes from prototype development in to mass production.
• Performance review and monitoring supplier development using Total Quality Management (TQM).
• Carry out situation analysis with suppliers to resolve complex problems and critical parts processes.
• Negotiate costs of design change with suppliers

You will need to take the design from drawings to suppliers and resolve any challenges' or issues with manufacturing solutions to develop appropriate and suitable tooling.

To be successful in this role you should be;

• Highly motivated and energetic
• Have an appreciation of processes found within Automotive/Manufacturing industry (not essential).
• Ability to understand and manipulate engineering and part drawings
• Excellent relationship building, communication and good negotiation skills
• HNC or related qualification in a manufacturing discipline is advantageous
• Ability to work in a fluid, varied and high pressure environment.

The role requires you to have a full clean driving license and an open current passport as you will need to travel overseas to support Honda's Global supply base.
