Job Description

Across two world-renowned brands, the Jaguar Land Rover Powertrain puts the heart into our vehicles. Specialist teams provide vital support in the design, development and calibration of diesel and petrol engines, engine management systems, transmission units, differential and drive shafts - and of cooling, exhaust, air intake and fuel systems. You'll devote your expertise to the creation of vehicles that set new standards in engineering, meet environmental requirements and delight our customers.

This is a crucial role, providing a valuable analysis service across all aspects of Powertrain development. Covering a range of attributes, from noise vibration and harshness to durability, performance emissions to driveability, you will employ specialist techniques including finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, multi-body systems, and process calculations (such as 1D network analysis). You'll perform a stimulating variety of design calculations using both hand calculations and proprietary software, helping to resolve complex technical problems.

Driven and organised, you are a good team player, with strong analytical and IT skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and Project. You also have the ability to effectively interpret and communicate results data, and a demonstrable track record of using relevant proprietary software. Your experience of mathematical modelling spans several disciplines, which may include finite element and/or fluid network analysis, gas exchange calculations and/or computational fluid dynamics.
