Product / Brand Manager
Berkshire

The Role Purpose

To identify, source and manage products and suppliers as designated to ensure the client has the product portfolio required to meet its sales budget and budgeted profit contribution.

Key Accountabilities:

1. To develop product ranges and categories as required to achieve budgeted company sales and profit targets.

2. The research and development of products through effective liaison with internal and external sales teams and market research.

3. To assist in the selection and management of suppliers in accordance with company procedures.

4. To liaise with Purchasing on all aspect of stock control for designated products and suppliers including:

* setting up products on the system.
* forecasting initial order quantities and ongoing involvement in forecasting and re-order quantities to ensure market influences are applied
* clearance strategies and pricing

5. Range review and product development including:

* Market assessment for opportunities
* Product selection
* pricing
* monitoring, reviewing and updating data on the total costs of products, including purchase price, currency costs, duties, freight and other associated costs
* achievement of target margin
* packaging
* technical information
* product training

6. Development of brand strategy for POS, brochures, advertising, timing of product launches, consumer and trade advertising, PR/editorial, liaising with the Marketing Manager on the delivery and execution.

7. Preparation and involvement in internal and external meetings for the purposes of presenting new products and gathering feedback on product performance in the market.

8. Provision of technical information and copy on all products for inclusion in the Catalogue in accordance with timelines to ensure catalogue availability.

9. Maintain accurate and easily accessible records (including filing documents) relating to own supplier portfolio.

10. To represent the clients interests in a professional manner at all times.

Person Specification

* Literate, numerate (etc)
* Keen, Self starter
* Already couple of years minimum experience in a product manager role in consumer durables or FMCG.
* Real interest in cars particularly bodywork and interior enhancements and improvements
