Are you looking for a challenge and a long term career?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a successful and motivated Trainee Service Advisor to join our team at our Sinclair Cardiff Volkswagen aftersales team. This programme will ideally suit a college leaver who is looking for a structured development career within the Motor Trade. You will learn all aspects of a franchised motor dealership Aftersales operation.

Day to day duties within the role include:

  • Customer service – focal point of contact to customers for servicing over telephone and face to face, arranging bookings and appointments.
  • Administration – book service appointments, prepare invoices, process of paperwork.
  • Teamwork – liaising with the workshop, management and customer
  • Upsell – promote and sell products

You will also be expected to:

  • Take responsibility for your actions and decisions
  • Co-operate and help make changes succeed
  • Find ways to reduce inefficiency
  • Accept feedback constructively
  • Readily acknowledge your own mistakes
  • Place the interests of your team ahead of your personal agenda
  • Ask for help on a timely basis e.g by informing your line manage if customer service is compromised due to limited resource/time to deliver


40 hours, 8.30am – 5.30pm Mon – Fri, 8.30am – 12.30pm Saturdays on a rota basis

Skills Required

  • You must be able to build relationships and rapport with ease and be comfortable dealing with customers face to face and over the telephone
  • You must be an excellent communicator, have fantastic customer service skills and an eye for detail.
  • You must be a strong team player, eager to learn and follow instructions.
  • You must have the desire and drive to achieve objectives set by Audi UK and the management team.
  • A sound understanding of computers and computer programmes

Qualifications Required

  • A minimum of three GCSE’s grades A-C in English, Maths and Science or the equivalent.

Personal Qualities:

You must have a genuine interest working in the automotive sector and be committed to the training programme. You must be willing to learn in a hands-on, customer facing environment and will need to be confident with your IT skills.

Future Prospects

Full-time position considered for the right person following successful completion of training.
