Our Clients, a very successful Group of Independent Bodyshops are currently looking for a Trainee Parts Advisor for their Barnsley site.

  • To assist and support with the general parts administration and support the Parts Manager as required and directed by the Bodyshop Manager
  • To support the Bodyshop Management Team as and when required
  • To act as a point of contact for various operational staff

Key Tasks

  • Accurately identify customer parts requirements
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of new or updated parts, and ensure parts bulletins, lists and catalogues are read and stored
  • Attend training courses to develop job-related knowledge
  • Liaise with line manager to monitor lost sales for inventory control
  • Maintain parts stock and stock records
  • Ensure all stock is kept securely and in good condition
  • Maintain stock control and guard against any unauthorised removal of parts stock
  • Ensure all incoming deliveries are checked and stored in correct location with any discrepancies reported to the line manager
  • Ensure that a receipt, payment or authorised signature is obtained for all parts stock issued
  • Assist in all aspects of stocktaking
  • Process parts orders efficiently
  • Ensure all paperwork, documentation and parts requisitions are completed accurately
  • Ensure all credit sales transaction are to an authorised signatory or approved account and cash and cheque payments are received and stored securely
  • Place special orders as necessary, balancing the needs of economy and speed of delivery to bodyshop
  • Source the availability of additional parts from the retailer
  • Search for part numbers using the Electronic Parts Catalogue
  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Satisfy customer requirement by identifying parts accurately
  • Answer customer queries
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with customers
  • Contribute to departmental compliance with company policies
  • Ensure department is clean and tidy
  • Ensure the correct recycling of all disposed and damaged items in line with environmental regulations
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety and Company policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills and self motivating.

The basic salary for this role is between £15K to £17K and the working hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:30 pm.
