Logic 360 is a leading recruiter in the automotive industry and currently has a great opportunity for experienced and qualified Mechanics for one of our reputable client in Bicester, Upper Heyford, Coventry and Banbury areas in Oxfordshire.

As a mechanic, you are responsible for the repair of vehicles and making routine maintenance checks to ensure that a vehicle is running as per the required standards. As Technician, you are trained in all areas of vehicle mechanics and electronics, from engine and exhaust systems to air conditioning and security features.

Duties include:

  • Finding faults, often using computer diagnostic equipment
  • Carrying out repairs and replacing damaged parts
  • Road testing vehicles to check repairs
  • Carrying out standard servicing and safety checks to deliver excellent customer service
  • Ensuring effective use of technical knowledge and skills enabling efficient, economic, and safe servicing and repair of customer vehicles.
  • Accurately completing repair and service records as well as any other appropriate activities as specified by the Team Leader or Service Manager
  • Analysing work orders carefully to understand a vehicle's condition, the accuracy of the diagnosis, and what work has been agreed to.

Skills required:

  • Strong understanding of automotive systems and functionalities is essential
  • Previous diagnostic experience would be an advantage
  • Strong practical skills
  • Methodical problem-solving skills
  • The ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
  • The ability to quickly grasp new vehicle technologies
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team

Qualification and Experience

The successful candidate must be Qualified to City & Guilds Level 3 in Light Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.

You must be a current fully qualified vehicle technician with a proven track record of quality workmanship and strong diagnostic skills. An MOT License would be preferred but not essential.

Full UK Driving License with no more than 3 (Three) Penalty Points.

Work environment

Various shift patterns are available.

You will carry out most your work in a workshop environment. Some tasks may be physically demanding although you will use lifting equipment to move heavy parts. You will be expected to wear safety clothing when using specialized equipment and carrying out certain tasks.
