Due to our continued success as one of the country’s leading suppliers of heavy commercial vehicles we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced LGV Day Shift Supervisor based at our Goole vehicle maintenance unit (VMU), which we operate on behalf of Tesco. 

The role of the Supervisor is to organise and motivate the shift to achieve the required workload and deliver maximum fleet availability for our customers.  This is a productive role and, as such, you will have a strong technical background and be capable of the service, repair and preparation of vehicles and trailers to MOT standard. As Supervisor, you will also ensure the work completed by your shift meets the highest standards of quality and productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the shift to ensure quality of work, productivity and utilisation meet the required standards
  • Carry out quality control checks 
  • Communicate shift hand over information
  • Supervise and prioritise workload throughout shift for maximum efficiency
  • Up-date customers with progress & escalate concern repairs to management team
  • Ensure Health & Safety and safe working practices are met at all times
  • Carry out service, MOT, maintenance and repair of the Tesco, Stobart and TIP fleet to DVSA standard.
  • Conform to all customer site requirements & regulations.
  • Ensure all technicians on shift have made appropriate clocking’s and that all job cards and service sheets etc. are completed to the appropriate standards.
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained to the required standard.

Key requirements for the role:

  • Fully skilled and time served LGV technician
  • Service and repair to DVSA standards
  • Flexible and ability to work to standard times
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to supervise a team
  • An ability to work as a team player within a busy department
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • Ability to work to prioritise workload
  • LGV C+E licence would be an advantage
