Business Development Manager - Commercial Vehicle Supplier - South Yorkshire
Basic Salary circa £32k, OTE £50k uncapped : fully expensed company car, Phone, iPad/laptop + other benefits
The company is an industry leading commercial vehicle supplier that provides both self- drive rental and sales of LGV and HGV's. Short term and contract truck rental is the core of their business, with a significant portion of their fleet being Heavy Goods Vehicles.
Vehicle maintenance, compliance and vehicle renewal, coupled with low operating margins, ensure the company remains one of the most competitive vehicle resources

The company are a commercial vehicle hire business that has been established for over half a century, it is a family run business that employs around 160 people across 6 depots in the North/South-West of England. They have been awarded an ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditation - adding to our continued commitment to providing a quality service to both customers and employees
They are looking for a Business Development Manager to promote both short and long term hire and preferably with a focus on Traffic Management and the specialist vehicles that they are renowned for.
Although this is national role they want you to feel part of the business and to aid this you will need to be located suitably close to the Barnsley Depot.
You will need a proven track record in Truck Rental, Contract Hire, and Rental Agreements and Maintenance packages and knowledge of the market that you will sell to. Candidates from Truck Sales companies would not have the required skill set as you must be from a rental sales background to qualify to go forward.
As you will be involved in specifying new vehicles for customers you will need to be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of current vehicle manufacturers and bodybuilders - please don't apply if you don't have experience!
Increase rental sales and company profile by identifying new customers and developing existing accounts
Arrange and participate in face to face meetings with prospective customers
Keeping up to date with industry and sector knowledge by researching and expanding knowledge
Take an active role in the management of your customers and their requirements
An ability to work in a planned and structured way
Essential, must have proven track record in Truck Rental or Heavy Commercial Vehicle Contract Hire.
A mechanical background
Fully expensed company car
20 days holiday rising to a maximum of 25
